![]() GMS users developed complicated auto-tiling scripts that would select the correct tile and place it in the room at runtime. In the GMS1 room editor, you had to select your tiles manually, then place them one click at a time, which was very tedious. ![]() In GMS1, tiles were a type of background resource. I never used tiles much in GMS1, because they were such a pain to work with, and did so little. One of the best new features in GameMaker Studio 2 is the improved tile system.
